We would love to know what we can do to make the Online Legal experience even better. Feel free to send us your comments.

Does Online Legal offer refunds?

No, Online Legal does not offer refunds for subscriptions or purchased books.

This means that if you have already paid for the month in which the cancellation occurs, that charge will not be refunded. For details on Online Legal’s billing policy, please read our Payment Terms.

Does billing automatically recur every month?

Yes. Our billing for Online Legal automatically recurs every month. We do not provide refunds.

If billing fails, your account will be temporarily suspended until we are able to charge your credit card through our payment processor. If you would like, you will be able to update your payment details or manage your subscription anytime here.

Can I travel abroad with Online Legal?

Keep in mind that Online Legal sometimes uses data (to download a new book, for example). To avoid inadvertently racking up a large international data bill, we recommend you contact your cellular carrier before traveling abroad.

Also keep in mind that Online Legal stores the last 10 books you opened for offline reading, so there is not necessarily any reason to use data at all while you are jetting around outside the US.

What is Online Legal privacy policy?

By default, your profile and reading activity is visible to other readers on Online Legal, including your followers. For any individual title that you are reading, you can set the book as private by opening the Table of Contents in the reader, and setting “Read Privately” to “On.”

This will ensure that your reading activity for that book is private and does not show up publicly in the Activity tab, your Reading List, and Books Read.

Is my financial information secure?

Yes. Our payments are handled by Stripe, a reliable and secure third party payment processor.

I purchased this book by mistake—now what?

Contact us with your first and last name and details about what happened—well look into this.

Why does it say I have to purchase these books? I’m already paying for a subscription.

If you’re paying a subscription month, that means you are currently enrolled in Online Legal, our subscription service which gives readers access to over 1 million books for $9.95 a month. We also sell other books that aren’t available on subscription in our store on the web and right from within our platform.

I want to cancel my subscription—can I keep the books I purchased?

If you purchased books from our store, they’re yours. You will be able to keep these books within the Online Legal app even after canceling your Online Legal subscription.

I want to cancel my subscription—can I keep the books on my Reading List?

If you cancel your Online Legal subscription, you wont be able to keep the books on your Reading List unless you purchased these books from our store. If you have any other questions, contact us.

Didn’t find the answer to your question? Contact us—we’ll write back as soon as we can.

Each Online Legal account can be accessed on up to six devices. However, we built Online Legal as an individual experience—all activity, personalization, and syncing was designed and developed with a single reader in mind.

Can I read books offline?

Internet access is only required the first time you open a book. Once you open a book, the title will appear in your Continue Reading List and you will be able to download the book to your mobile device. No data connection is needed to access titles you have already downloaded. This allows readers to read anytime, anywhere (including on a subway at rush hour)!

Will my reading sync across devices?

It will! Just make sure to open and close the app when youre connected to the internet so the devices can communicate.

There was a title I was interested in—now its gone. Why?

Rarely, a title may be removed from Online Legal for several reasons relating to the rights of the book. If a title is removed, where possible we always provide notice to members in advance. In most cases, members who have an expiring title in their library will be given 90 days to complete the book, if they choose.
