Using the site

Q: How do I change my password?

A: Please go to “my profile” on the website and follow the instructions.

Q: Is there a Online Legal mobile app?

A: The Online Legal service is mobile-friendly – the text will reflow on smaller tablet and smartphone screens.

Q: What if the site doesn’t have the answer to my question?

A: Then we’d love to hear from you! Even though we have one of the largest project management lists of any UK publisher, we know that there are many questions relating to project management that we have not yet answered. Please ask your question via the community button on this website and we will aim to get your question answered.

Q: I am a specialist IT project manager, and my interest is restricted to this subject. How can I make sure I find content relating to my speciality?

A: Online Legal subject pages cover the widest range of specialist themes within project management (click on “Subject” in the menu bar, then choose one of the head main subjects from the drop-down menu). If you would like to see more content relating to your special interest, why not contact our site moderator (see contact us) and talk to her about setting up a forum or regular post in this area.

Another option is to use our custom-made search tools to find relevant content (from books, articles, discussions) and create a Playlist. That way, you will always have a quick way to find your favourite content, and share your finds with your colleagues.

Q: I would like to write a book for Online Legal or other of your publishing partners – I have an idea that is not covered on the site.

A: We welcome suggestions from new authors! Please contact us with your idea ( in the contact us section of this website).

Managing your content

Q: What can I put in my profile?

We recommend that you:

  • Change your “display name” to one that makes you easy for other users to identify
  • Add a photo of yourself, or a suitable avatar. Remember that your image will be displayed throughout the site wherever you add a comment, or if you are the author of an article. (Tech requirements: choose a .png .gif .jpg or .jpeg file that is larger than 180×180 pixels; then the system helps you to crop the image to fit the space.)
  • Include a short biography (suggested max. 200 words)
  • Add your social media contact details if you wish (Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+)
  • Gower authors may also select subject specialisms.

Please remember to check your text to eliminate spelling and typing errors. You can amend your profile at any time; simply click the “edit” tab.

Please note: As set out in our Terms and conditions, the Online Legal editorial team reserve the right to edit profiles and content submitted for publication. We will respect the author’s original intent and any edits will be done sympathetically to ensure the content meets the quality requirements of the site.

Q: How do I create a playlist?

It’s nice and easy! Simply click the button on the right labelled “Add this to a playlist”. You can add any content to a new playlist (you will be asked to create a name for the playlist) or you can add any content to an existing playlist that you created earlier.

Q: Who can see my playlists?

Playlists are visible on your Profile page, but they will also be automatically listed on any relevant subject page.

Q: Are there any rules about posting comments in the community?

Yes, we have put together a Code of Conduct to help ensure that all users have a productive, friendly and safe experience. The Code of Conduct is at this website.

Q: I would like my content to be published on the site; how do I do that?

We are very keen to encourage users to submit articles, videos, tools and other content. Please get in touch with us or fill out the form on the Contact us page. We will then contact you for further details.

Q: How much does it cost?

A: There are two sets of prices: one for corporate/institutional groups, and one for personal subscribers. The corporate/institutional price represents a substantial discount on a single personal subscription, on the basis of multiple users. In comparison with the print price of our books, any subscription should pay for itself after a user has accessed three or four books. See the section on subscriptions for details of the current subscription prices.

Q: I am a student. Can I access the service free?

A: Unfortunately, we cannot provide access to Online Legal free of charge, but we are happy to offer a substantial discount to members of educational institutes. Please contact the sales team (in our contact us page) for further information.

Q: Will my subscription entitle me to digital editions of new books from Online Legal or its publishing partners?

A: During the period of your subscription, you will have access to all the content on the site – including access to all legal and business-related books published by Online Legal. In addition, we will give you access to excerpts from works in progress, prior to publication, and some books and other information (icluding reports, studies and guides) by some of our publishing partners.

Q: Does my subscription entitle me to access the content after my subscription has expired?

A: Unfortunately not. You can only access the Online Legal content while your subscription is valid.

Q: How do I cancel my subscription?

A: Please contact us.
